Our Fabrics
Leather: Water resistance, breathability, shape retention, tear and tensile strength. We only use top-grade, full-grain leather hide that has been treated to remove layers or imperfections, leaving the grain strong, durable and breathable - the highest quality leather available. All our leather is drum- dyed, ensuring the hides are saturated with dye which permeates through every layer, the colour won’t fade and the bags develop a rich patina over time.
Nylon: Strong, durable, machine washable, dries quickly, easy-clean, lightweight. Nylon is one of the most commonly used synthetic materials. The fabric blends well with other fibres, is very flexible and resilient to dirt, weather and chemicals. It is very strong, lightweight, takes colour well and has great shape retention. Perfect for an everyday bag.
Microfibre: Soft, water-resistant, strong, lightweight, easy clean, takes colour very well. Microfibre is an amazing fabric! The many fine fibres of this material are densely packed together which allows for optimum absorption of dye, resulting in rich, bright and lustrous colour. The density of fibres also makes the fabric super lightweight while strong, soft and luxuriant and always remains beautifully wrinkle free.
Hemp: 100% natural and environmentally friendly material. Hemp is one of the strongest and most durable of all natural textile fibres. Not only is hemp strong, but it also holds its shape, stretching less than any other natural fibre. Hemp may be known for its durability, but its comfort and style are second to none. The more hemp is used, the softer it gets. Hemp doesn't wear out, it wears in. Hemp is also naturally resistant to mold and ultraviolet light.
Recycled PET: Eco-friendly, robust, strong, water resistant and versatile. PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a polyester material used to make plastic bottles and containers. These are remanufactured, and woven into fibre to make textiles. Recycled PET is a durable, water resistant and tactile fabric which offers significant design flexibility. Using recycled PET for our Earth Collection gives us many options in regards to shape, size and finish and colour in addition to the eco benefits of using a product made from recycled material. Synthetic Leather: Great value for money, leather look, durable, weather proof, strong. We use synthetic leather for our Boho bags. Synthetic leather has a hide-like surface and is treated to have the same look and feel of real leather. Synthetic leather can be dyed in a variety of colours; it is durable, easy to care for, affordable and stain resistant.
Vintage Canvas: Durable, lightweight, water-resistant, holds shape well. Cotton canvas fabric is treated with a synthetic leather coating, resulting in a waxed effect and the distressed/ vintage look. This coating also provides added water resistance and retains colour and strength.
Cotton Twill: Sturdy, soft, water resistant, breathable. Cotton twill is used to make our Expedition Collection bags. Made of strong water resistant cotton, ‘twill’ describes this fabric’s signature diagonal weave. This weave makes for a very sturdy material – one that is also flexible, breathable and soft to touch; a popular fabric choice for casual wear and accessories, and a perfect choice for a bag suited to everyday wear and an active lifestyle.
